How It Works

Engineered to reach bedrock

The Grip-Tite® Push Pier System stops and prevents foundation settlement by driving steel tubes through unstable soil to bedrock or other competent load-bearing strata. The system uses the weight of the structure itself to hydraulically advance the piers — no heavy equipment needed.

Push Pier tubes are manufactured from high-strength, low-alloy hot-rolled steel and are offered in 2.78" and 3" diameter in two thicknesses: Standard Duty at 0.12" and Heavy Duty at 0.188". Sleeved couplings provide high resistance to bending throughout the pier column.

Each pier is load tested during installation, and brackets and caps are hot-dipped galvanized for long-term corrosion resistance — giving you a system built to last 100+ years.

1

Expose the Footing

A small area of soil is excavated at the base of the foundation to expose the footing and allow bracket installation.

2

Install the Bracket

A galvanized steel bracket is secured to the foundation footing, providing the mounting point for the pier tubes.

3

Drive Pier Tubes

Steel pier tubes are hydraulically driven through the bracket and deep into the soil until they reach bedrock or stable load-bearing strata.

4

Perform the Lift

Once all piers are set, the system is simultaneously loaded to lift and stabilize the foundation back toward its original position.

5

Remove Equipment

All hydraulic equipment is removed from the site. The pier system remains permanently in place with no ongoing maintenance required.

6

Backfill

Excavated soil is backfilled and compacted, leaving your property looking virtually untouched and the foundation permanently supported.

Key Advantages

High-strength steel. Lasting results.

High-Strength Steel

Pier sections and sleeved couplings are made from high-strength, low-alloy hot-rolled steel with high resistance to bending.

Year-Round Install

Push piers can be installed in any season, quickly and professionally, with no weather-related delays or scheduling gaps.

End-Bearing Capacity

An end-bearing pier reaches bedrock directly — it doesn't rely on soil friction for capacity, giving you verified, predictable load performance.

100+ Year Lifespan

Galvanized brackets and caps resist corrosion for the long haul. These piers are built to outlast the structure they support.

Don't Overlook the Signs

Is your foundation settling?

Left untreated, foundation settlement only gets worse — and more expensive to fix. These are the most common warning signs that your foundation may need push pier support. An assessment by a certified technician can determine the severity and the right solution.

  • Cracks in foundation or basement walls
  • Cracks in interior plaster walls or ceilings
  • Gaps in window and door frames
  • Doors and windows that stick or won't close properly
  • Uneven or sloping floors
  • Leaning or bowing walls
  • Sinking or visibly settling foundation
  • Nail pops in ceilings and drywall
  • Chimney tilting or pulling away from the house
